Instructor: Nancy Bush
Many interesting embellishments have been created by Estonian knitters to decorate their knitting. In this workshop we will create wristers beginning with a braided cast on and advancing on to different ways to make lateral braids, adding in a unique 'button' or bobble-like technique as we go. This class is packed with interesting traditional techniques which can be used in many modern applications. Learn more and register now!

Knitting with Wire
Instructor: Annie Modesitt

In this class we'll cover the basics of casting on, knitting and binding off using 26-30 gauge wire. We'll cover topics such as adding beads to a knitted wire piece, finishing wire pieces and adding findings as we create a simple knit necklace. Jewelry making skill not required, students should know how to knit and purl. For this class we will work in the Combination Method where possible as that creates less stress on the wire and leads to less breakage. Learn more and register now!

Instructor: Rose Ann Hunter
Needlework takes you back to another time and place. Let Rose Ann Hunter take you back to 1790 to the folk art tradition of recycling woolen fabrics and fibers into utilitarian rugs. Several techniques will be discussed that are knitted, crocheted or sewn techniques with lots of reproductions samples that are Knitted startbursts, confetti, hit and miss, and also yarn sewn and standing wools. Ideas of how you can combine these principles into designing your own heirloom rugs will be presented bringing them to present day. Learn more and register now!

Color Outside the Lines: Tam
Instructor: Janine Bajus

Working from a pre-defined colorway (8 colors purchased as a kit), students will learn how color is traditionally used in Fair Isle designs by coloring in the provided classic tam pattern using a step-by-step process. The kit includes enough yarn to knit three tams—each tam will be unique! This workshop is ideal for those who want to explore Fair Isle design but are hesitant about starting from scratch. New Adventures in Double-Knitting with Three Colors
Instructor: Alasdair Post-Quinn

Instructor: Gayle Roehm
There’s a fad in Japan for making “room shoes,” which are slippers to be worn indoors on tatami mat floors. These are a fun variation for your crocheting. We’ll use a free online pattern, with permission, as a basis to practice crochet stitches and understand the construction of the slippers. This class will introduce you to the conventions of Japanese charted crochet patterns, which use international crochet symbols. Learn more and register now!

Exploring Vertically Stranded Color Work
Instructor: Lorilee Beltman

Explore various ways that color can be added when contrast stitches climb vertically from round to round. Always working in the round, we'll play with simple zigs and zags, intersecting lines for diagonal plaid, lines between lace, and purl-only columns that look like caterpillars. We'll explore its sketchy history- it is used in Rovaniemi knitting, as a substitute for duplicate stitch in argyle, and it even appears in a Japanese stitch dictionary. Learn more and register now!
